A Lazy Morning in Kelowna (meaning Grizzly Bear in Native American....still not seen one!)

It was an evening arrival at our impressive accommodation at Okanagan Hall, University of British Columbia. The party are all in single rooms in the Purcell Hall of Residence and quickly found the sun terrace after a delicious tea!

Feeling refreshed after a good sleep and fantastic breakfast of fruit, yoghurt and granola PLUS pancakes and maple syrup, we headed off to explore Kelowna. Yet again, Kevin our coch driver was so helpful in guiding us on ideas for the morning which included a trip up to the view point above the city......

...time at the water front....

....and fun in the sun on the beach by the lake. Mrs Dickinson, Miss Jones and some of the girls went out on the water on paddle boards, double and single canoes whilst others played on the sand and water zip lines or sunbathed and cooled off with a swim. Unfortunately the camera was not focused on Mrs D when she fell in fully clothed!!

Good body line shown here! Mrs D was impressed!!!

The girls had time to cool off and have lunch and shop in the air conditioned Orchard Shopping Mall before heading back to UBC Campus to rest and prepare for our 2nd hockey match vs Kelowna Secondary School. The temperatures are up at 38 degrees with quite a high humidity. The game is due to start at 6.45pm-really hope the temperature goes down by then. We will be taking LOTS of water!!

More blog after the match!
