Day 2: Calgary Stampede

The day got off to a good start with a Canadian breakfast to give us the energy for a busy day.

On route to the station we spotted a school bus and couldn't resist a team photo.

In Downtown Calgary the girls stocked up on water, snacks and Stetsons ready for the rodeo.

Even the staff got into the spirit...

What a show....

Amazing spectacle! We saw six major events in the afternoon -the SaddleBronx, Bareback, Bull Riding, Tie-Down Roping, Steer Wrestling and Ladies Barrel Racing, took loads of photos on the PE Dept camera using the long lense and got some great shots! Girls wanted to stay for the evening show including the Chuck Wagon Racing. Was a bit dubious as thought the group might be tired later- but all wanted to stay so got the tickets and we all enjoyed the excitement of the wagon racing.we left and caught the train home after the last race as we were getting tired and a little chilly to. All back safe now and tucked up
In bed. First matches for the hockey players vs Calgary Cougars tomorrow so having a training session in the morning, bit of retail therapy and lunch out before afternoon matches. Really looking forward to seeing them play their first match! Will blog some more soon!
