From Kelowna to Vancouver via Hope!

We were quite sad to leave the wonderful accommodation at BC university but excited to start the 4 hour journey to the City of Vancouver.

Our first stop was in the town of Hope, situated on the Fraser River and famous for the many famous wood carvings around the town. We couldn't resist a photo of our very own Hope by the sign.

It was very warm but windy by the river.

If you are ever fortunate enough to visit Hope, we can recommend a coffee in The Blue Moose Cafe!

Our next stop was in Fort Langley town, some girls and staff found a typical diner to eat lunch in before heading for the Fort Langley, an original settlers town.

We enjoyed a demonstration by a blacksmith, dressing up in the original clothes and having a sing-song by the piano (this was so good it prompted one of the employees of Fort Langley to ask if we were on a music tour!) and lowering the flag at the closing ceromony whilst singing the National Anthem.

Then it was on to Burnaby on the outskirts of Vancouver to play netball against BC Netball. Both the first and second team played well but failed to secure wins against some strong opposition....we meet them again next week so are hopeful of some success.

On arrival at the YWCA in Vancouver we waved a sad goodbye to our driver Kevin who had been very informative and friendly over the last 5 days.

We hope to see grizzly bears on our gondola ride up Grouse Mountain tomorrow, it promises to be an action-packed day so I'll sign off now and get some sleep before a 6am alarm!
