Once more we were faced with a 'selection' Canadian squad full of the very best local players. This is proving to be an uphill struggle for us at times especially when we are playing provincial and national standard players!
Our girls are so positive and have really pulled together against this constant pressure from high level players. I am so proud of their effort and enthusiasm in each match and the blog photos just summarise all of this!
The girls have been hosted by families from Victoria and there are good friendships being forged along with a great sense of camaraderie between our players and also with our Victoria opponents. The hosting arrangements are co-ordinated for us in Canada and our girls have been hosted in different groups which all helps with the bonding of our girls across the different age groups.
We lost our games 6-0 and 3-1 but with some heroic efforts from MTGS throughout. They were very competitive games but played in a good spirit.
We waved them off to their host families for a beach BBQ and left Sophie Marsh to oversee our thanks and the presentation of the commemorative shield whilst Ellie Parrott was charged with the responsibility of photographing the evening plus the presentation. Look forward to seeing the photos Ellie!
